Its like publishing a book that people are going to read. It has to be interesting, and informative though. If you can  write for different audiences on relevant subjects, you could have a career as a web editor??  Thats what Web Editors get paid for, writing for different audiences on specialist subjects.

I know about publishing for the web! Who doesn't? I can create web pages, edit images (jpg, gif), write html, and xhtml. Create styles using css, validate web pages, and publish sites on-line.

its that easy!! i hear you say. But there is more to web design than meets the eye? Top Tip!! Before you start however, sketch out our site, use the latest project management tool if you can like Microsoft Project, or Gantt project, is what i use, to manage my web project through its stages to finish.

You have designed, and published your web site, be it for a business, or a personal interest using the latest design software, i like Dreamweaver 8, or MX, to design and edit my sites. You ahve chosen your mark-up langauge, html or xhtml, to style your pages.

To make your site event driven, you can use a programme language, JavaScript to jazz up your site, or 'perl' for commercial reasons. You can now move on to the 'nitty gritty' of web design. Start thinking about those key words that identify your web site, and put them in to the 'head' of your doc, this gives the web crawler ammunition for search optimising your web site. 

Validate your site using W3c validator service, or dreamweaver 8, which has it's own validating tool to make sure your code is correct with no errors. Hosting poviders, will give you a user name, and password to log in, and this is where you upload, or edit content, but make sure you get the right package for your web sites needs.

On a somber note, i'm in between jobs at present, a victim of the 'credit crunch' and im not alone in that respect im sure??

What's next for me? a route in to web developement as a junior would be nice?? but in the mean time, administration is where im at. May be i could update your administrative systems? run an Information desk for you?produce documents using the latest Microsoft software in Excel, Word, Email etc..
